As PopCult enters its third month of existence, I feel the urge to pause and reflect on all that has happened to us. Throughout the good times and the bad, the moments of camaraderie and pure seething hatred, one truth has been evident to me above all others: I really, really dislike writing editor's notes. Even on a monthly basis. So this'll be the last one for a while. When I started up the site, I thought these notes would be useful to newcomers who might be wondering what this thing is all about. Now I think it's all pretty self-explanatory. So, rather than have me blather on about the site, here are a collection of comments and interviews from other websites. (And if you see an article or review of PopCult, please tell methe sites rarely alert me and I can only do so many self-obsessed web searches in a week.) And before I sign off, let me recap a few of my regular requests: I still need new writers and artists, particularly if they're extremely talented and unwaveringly generous. I really wish you'd post some comments on the PopCult Discussion Forums. It could be a beautiful thing. Join now. Send money. Don't ask why or what it will be used for. Write me a letter so I have something interesting to post in the Viewer Mail department. Tell all your friends about the wonders you have seen here. Finally, thank you for the many kind words that have been appearing on my monitorthey've been a big help. Yours in Pop-Culture Goodness, Coury

Yahoo! Pick of the Day And a nice blurb in the April 11-18, 2002 issue of Time Out New York. Ironically, they don't post their "Ones & Zeros" column online. An interview I did with foxnews.com on the sad state of newspaper comics. I was also interviewed for around a half hour about newspaper comics on the "AmericaLIVE" radio networkbut they don't post sound clips online.
PopCult's been linked by about 50 weblogs (that I'm aware of). Here some of the more well-known ones Yahoo! Internet Life's "Daily Buzz" column. (Clickophony, March 14) Sadly, their archive doesn't go back that far. Bill Barol's fine Blather (March 8) The ever-popular boingboing.net (March 13) The extensive Coudal Partners ("Fresh Signals," March 8) The delightful Scrubbles (March 11) The useful Pop Culture Junk Mail (March 17) And metafilter even had a discussion about one of the "Bottom 5's." (March 29) Then there are some overseas sites though I'm not sure how to find the direct links to the correct dates http://blog.vollmondlicht.com/ http://www.schockwellenreiter.de/2002/03/15.html http://www.gaby407.com/piepkuikens/index2.php http://web.planet.nl/planetweekly/ Back to the Ed.
